To Be Human Is To Be Beautifully Flawed

Everything isn’t always black and white.

Hate the crime, not the criminal.

For some, every day is a constant fight.

For some, conflict is minimal.

Behind bars because the battle is constant.

Whether it’s in the mind or with others.

Not even exempt if you live in a convent.

Cuz there is criminal in all sisters and brothers.

Bars come in all forms, some are cages we create.

Working through this process called life.

Challenging to be pure love when there is so much hate.

The words of others can cut deeper than a knife.

Define a crime, then let me rewrite the book.

Cuz’ legality has loopholes for the cliques.

Some are allowed to murder without being a crook.

Feels like the only ones making the rules are dicks.

What happened to the land of the free’s definition?

Now people treat freedom like eternal misery.

What’s with this messed up human condition?

People with everything create false needs to flee.

While those who admit we’re all nuts get committed.

Some throw away lives when they seem inconvenient.

While others are fighting for life and love to be permitted.

Guess it comes down to one’s opinion of inexpedient.

No one can know another’s life or their truth.

Those who empathize I sincerely applaud.

Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes.

To be human is to be beautifully flawed.
